Emily Deschanel couldn't believe her luck when she scored the lead role in crime drama Bones. A year later, she felt as if she was wallowing in mental and physical quicksand - plagued by a stress-related disorder.Deschanel had won acclaim in movies Cold Mountain, The Alamo and Glory Road when she auditioned for the part of forensic anthropologist Dr Temperance "Bones" Brennan.
She landed the role after impressing executive producer Hart Hanson with her assertiveness at her audition.
The 34-year-old should have waited to celebrate. She wasn't prepared for the rigors of filming series television.
